About brunch spots in Aarhus

Here are all six brunch places in Aarhus on a map, with distance and a badge showing whether they are open right now. If you would rather have them ranked, with a review and hours written out, the guide to the city's best brunch sits alongside this page.

They split in two: the bakery, where breakfast is something you collect at a counter, and the dining room, where you sit down at eleven and stay past lunch. The city has more of the first kind than the second.

Café Smagløs on Klostertorvet is the classic weekend brunch — large, old-fashioned, and with the best outdoor seats in the Latin Quarter once the sun reaches the square. Kähler Spisesalon on M.P. Bruuns Gade serves its brunch on ceramics from the shop next door and is the obvious place to bring a family.

The other kind is the bakery that also has tables. Mor Anna on Mejlgade opens at seven all seven days, so you can eat before the city wakes up. Manda Eatery on Jægergårdsgade opens at nine and moves from breakfast through lunch to cake without changing key — but it is closed on Mondays and takes no reservations. Jumbo Bakery & Eatery on Ankersgade builds its lunch on its own bread, opens at half past seven on weekdays and closes at four all seven days.

If you want to go further, Havrum sits at Egå Marina north of the city and opens at nine at weekends with fish on the breakfast table. It takes a bike or a bus along the coast, and the ride is part of it. Otherwise the rule is the same here as everywhere: come before eleven at the weekend, or come on a weekday.
