How to eat in Copenhagen
This page is the whole list: 105 places to eat in Copenhagen, from the bakery that opens at half past six in the morning to the club that closes at eight the next. They split into 41 restaurants, 34 bakeries and coffee bars, 10 brunch rooms, 10 bars, 10 street food addresses, 8 wine bars and 8 late-night places — and a fair few count twice, because they genuinely are two things.
They are not spread evenly. Indre By, the old town, holds 29 of the 105 addresses, Nørrebro 14, Vesterbro 9, and the Meatpacking District and Østerbro seven each. So pick the neighbourhood before the place. Refshaleøen is not connected to the rest of the city by bus, and a ride across town in the middle of a meal is the most expensive mistake you can make in Copenhagen.
If you are after one particular kind, the category pages carry the full list with a map, filters and an open-now badge — restaurants, bakeries, brunch, wine bars, bars, nightlife and street food each stand on their own. If you want the list ranked rather than filtered, the ranking is in the guides: the city's best restaurants, smørrebrød, bakeries, pizza, sushi, burgers, wine bars and cheap eats each have their own page.
Two numbers are worth knowing before you set off. Monday is the city's weakest day — 83 of the 105 places open, against 104 on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday is only marginally better at 84. And the price level sits lower than the reputation: 19 places are on the cheapest tier and 55 on the second cheapest, while exactly one address on the whole list sits at the top end.
