Montmartre has been on the world map for jazz since 1959, and it still happens on the small stage in a warm room. After a spell on Nørregade from 1976 to 1995, the club is back at the historic address on Store Regnegade where it all began.

Since reopening in 2010 the house has run both concerts and dining, and you can sit at the tables in front of the stage and eat before the music starts. The room is small enough that you can see what the musicians are doing with their hands.

Concerts Tuesday to Saturday from seven. Tickets are sold in advance, and the good nights sell out.

It suits an evening where the music is the reason rather than the background. Buy tickets early, arrive in time to eat, and expect to sit close to both the stage and the other guests.
