Pastis is a French brasserie as one should be: steak frites, oysters, moules and a wine card centred on France. It sits on the corner of Adelgade close to the King's Garden.

The card is the classic one and the kitchen sticks to it. Oysters and steak frites are the two people come for, and service runs without a break from late morning until late, so you can eat at odd hours.

Open from eleven every day. Sunday to Thursday they close at eleven in the evening, Friday and Saturday at one. There are tables outside on the corner.

It suits a late lunch, an early dinner and everything in between — and is one of the safest choices in the city centre if there are several of you with different wishes. The bill is a proper restaurant one, but the portions match.
