Food stalls by the Inner Harbour Bridge with a view of Nyhavn.

A wrap and a spritz at the long tables on the quay — Broens Gadekøkken

Illustration made with AI

Broens Gadekøkken is smaller and more central than Reffen: a handful of well-chosen stalls right by the Inderhavn bridge, with Nyhavn on the other side of the water. It is the obvious stop if there are several of you who cannot agree.

The stalls change over the years but the level holds, and there is fish, vegetarian food and something for children. There is a bar in the middle and long tables outside with heaters in winter.

The food stalls are open every day: half past eleven to eight Sunday to Thursday, eleven to nine Friday and Saturday, with the bars open an hour longer. It is a few minutes' walk from both Christianshavn and Kongens Nytorv.

Try the fish cakes, or whatever smells best as you walk past. It suits an early evening by the water, visitors from out of town, and families — there is room to sit and nothing to book.

Why it's worth a visit

  • A central spot by the Inner Harbour Bridge
  • A view of Nyhavn from the long tables
  • Hand-picked stalls rather than sheer numbers
