Kalaset

Kalaset looks as though the furniture was bought at five different flea markets, and that is the point: mismatched chairs, old china and patterned wallpaper. Brunch is the big plate with a little of everything, and it is served all day — not only at midday.

The café sits on Vendersgade near Nørreport and changes character through the day: brunch in the morning, ordinary food in the afternoon and a bar in the evening. It is rare in Copenhagen for one place to carry all three.

They open at ten every day. Monday to Thursday they close at midnight, Friday and Saturday at two in the morning and Sunday at eleven.

It suits the late brunch after you got up too late for everywhere else — and an evening that starts with food and continues with a glass. There is room for children early in the day and plenty of space for groups later.
