Classic Danish lunch on Skolegade — the place has not changed, and that is the point.

Fried plaice and meatballs on a white tablecloth — Pinden

Illustration made with AI

Pinden serves Danish lunch as it looked before anyone called it heritage: the stjerneskud, meatballs, herring and snaps, in a room that has not been redone. The waiters have been there a long time.

It is one of the last proper lunch restaurants in Aarhus, and the menu is the classic one throughout. The snaps belongs with it, and no fuss is made about it.

Open Tuesday to Saturday from twelve to eleven. Closed Sunday and Monday.

It suits a long lunch with visitors and anyone who wants to taste Danish food as it was cooked thirty years ago. Skolegade is in the centre near Åboulevarden. Book if there are more than four of you.
