Shared plates and a loud room in the Meatpacking District — the kitchen closes at ten, the bar up to two.

Gorilla serves many small dishes that arrive as the kitchen is ready. The room is large and high-ceilinged in one of the old halls of the Meatpacking District, the music is turned up, and there is a DJ later in the week.

This is a restaurant for an evening with several people, not a quiet dinner for two. You order a number of dishes for the table and share them, and the bar keeps going after the kitchen closes.

Open from half past five every day. Monday to Wednesday they close at midnight, Thursday at one, Friday and Saturday at two and Sunday at eleven. The kitchen shuts two hours before the door — ten Monday to Saturday and half past nine on Sunday — so a late order has to be in before that. There are tables on Flæsketorvet in summer.

It suits birthdays, work dinners and the kind of evening where noise is fine. If you want to talk, book early — after nine the hall fills and the volume follows.
