Granola

Granola looks as though it has stood on Værnedamsvej since between the wars: mahogany, brass and pharmacy cabinets. It is newer than that, but it is done with care, and the street is one of the prettiest in the city.

The card runs from breakfast to dinner with milkshakes in between, and that is its strength: you can arrive at eight in the morning or ten at night and get something that fits the hour. Breakfast is what people come back for.

Open from eight Monday to Friday and nine at weekends. They close at eleven Monday to Wednesday, at midnight Thursday to Saturday and at four on Sunday.

It suits an early morning when the rest of the city is asleep, and a late evening on Værnedamsvej if you want to eat without booking a restaurant. The tables outside are the most sought-after on the street.
