Sourdough pizza at long tables in the Meatpacking District — from morning until late.

Sourdough pizza with burrata and rocket on the long table — Mother

Illustration made with AI

Mother bakes sourdough pizza in a wood-fired oven and serves it at long tables in an old butcher's unit in the Meatpacking District. It is neither expensive nor quiet, and it is one of the few places in the area where you can bring children for dinner.

The dough is sour and thin and the pizzas are simple — this is the Neapolitan school, not the American one. You sit close together, and tables are shared when it is busy.

Open from eleven every day, from ten on Sunday. The kitchen closes at ten Monday to Thursday and at eleven on Friday and Saturday. Mother opened in 2010 and is one of the earliest addresses in the quarter.

It suits an early family dinner and a pizza after a bar in the neighbourhood. On weekdays between eleven and five any pizza on the card costs 100 kroner, and brunch runs from ten to three on Saturday and Sunday.
